Competitions are a great way to challenge yourself and see how you measure up against your own goals or other dancers. As a competitor you would improve your skills and bring home medals. You would practice looking good and showing yourself off to the judges and audience.
Performing with a partner or a group is a great experience for those that love the limelight. Performing improves your dance skills and makes you aware of other aspects of the dance like orientation, stage-presence, conveying emotion and story, and audience engagement.
These dances consist of spins and turns, so flowy clothes and shoes that you can spin in are recommended. Please also bring a bottle of water to make sure you stay hydrated.
We would love to see you regardless of skill level! The basics classes are there for people to learn and refine their foundations, and are perfect for beginner dancers.
In group classes and most workshops we will be rotating partners, meaning you can just show up and have a great time!
If you and your partner would prefer to stay together for the class, that's absolutely fine, and more common thank you think! However, we do recommend that you rotate for two reasons:
1. You meet new people, and
2. You can learn different things dancing with other people.
